LET'S PLAY: STREET DICE
CRAPS
Craps, also known as street dice, is one of the most exciting dice games out there. Whether you’re playing in a casino or on the street, the goal is simple—bet on the dice roll and win the pot. But don’t let the fast-paced action trip you up and leave you broke. Let's learn the Roll-ins and outs of the game so you're better armed when you Come-out against a Craps pro.

Object
Win bets as the Banker (Shooter) or against them through a series of winning and losing roll combinations.
What You Need
• Two standard six-sided dice
• Betting tokens, chips, or cash
• At least two players (but more can join the betting)
Set Up
Each player rolls one die:
-
The player with the highest roll becomes the first shooter.
-
Decide if you’re playing high roll or low roll to pick the shooter. Re-roll ties.
The shooter places the initial bet, and the opponent matches it—this is called a “fade.”
DICE Ranks
Dice sides from low to high: 1-6
Game Play
The Come Out Roll
-
The Shooter rolls two dice. This first roll is called the come out roll.
-
If the Shooter rolls a 7 or 11, they win instantly (this is called rolling a natural).
-
If they roll a 2, 3, or 12, they lose instantly (this is called crapping out).
-
Any other number (4, 5, 6, 8, 9, 10) becomes the point. This is the number the Shooter will have to roll in the Point Phase if they want to win.

All betting tokens are immediately exchanged on any instant wins.
The Point Phase
-
Once a point is set, the shooter keeps rolling until they either roll the point again (a win) or a 7 (a loss, called seven-out).
-
If the point is hit first, the shooter wins the pot. If a seven comes first, they lose the pot and pass the dice to the next shooter.
Winning the Game
-
The Shooter wins immediately by rolling a 7 or 11 on the come out roll.
-
The Shooter loses immediately by rolling a 2, 3, or 12 on the come out roll.
-
After a point is set, the Shooter wins by rolling the point (4, 5, 6, 8, 9, or 10) again before a 7 shows up. If they roll a 7 before the point, the Shooter loses and hands the dice over to another player.
